Bid Request – Sidewalk Shoveling
Town of Woodstock
Invitation to bid
Sidewalk Shoveling
Season 2022-2023
The Town of Woodstock is soliciting proposals for the shoveling of certain sidewalks that are the responsibility of the Village to keep clear of snow and ice for the coming winter season.
The Town of Woodstock would also consider a three-year contract, please submit a proposal for this option as well.
Work will consist of shoveling the sidewalks and placing de-icing agent or salt on the walks at the beginning of a storm. Sidewalks will be required to be shoveled when the storm is over as every three inches of snow accumulates during a major storm. The intersection of a crosswalk and sidewalk shall be cleared of the plow berm as well. The Welcome Center needs to be shoveled first.
Some storm events require only salt. Others require shoveling and some require both shoveling and salting. Salt is provided by the Village for pick-up at the Town Garage in West Woodstock. Salt to be used at beginning of storm. Sand the walkways in the Green. Sand also provided for use with pick up at the West Woodstock Town Garage.
- The following is a list of the sidewalks which will require shoveling, salting, and/or sanding:
- Rec Center Bridge to the crosswalk on the south side of the west end of River Street
- River Street, north side, at west end of the street, from crosswalk to intersection with Mountain Avenue
- South side of the Green from Court Street to People’s United Bank (2 the Green)
