Described by Ladies Home Journal magazine as “The Prettiest Small Town in America”, it is a visual treat with tree lined streets, perennials and annual flowers everywhere the eye can see. The Village curves around the beautiful Outtaquechee River which can be seen from the many covered bridges throughout the Town and Village.

Each season brings the excitement of many special events. Autumn, the most famous season in the Northeast draws the most visitors to our area with beautiful foliage as backdrop to photos, the Apple & Crafts Fair, the Sculpture Fest, Woodstock Digital Media Festival, the Vermont Fine Furniture and Woodworking Festival, Green Mountain Horse Association Fall Foliage ride as well as hiking excursions and family outings to the Billings Farm and Museum.

Skiing, snowshoeing, hockey, curling, viewing the Snow Sculpture Contest on The Green or taking in a youth hockey game (or the Boston Bruins vs. Woodstock Alumni) are just some of the many winter activities. The widely popular, annual Wassail parade and weekend including Holiday House Tours, Messiah Sing.

Spring is a season of rebirth in Woodstock with flowering blossoms on trees, tulip lined lawns, maple sugaring season, pancake breakfasts and pure maple syrup in our local restaurants. The local garden club and shop owners create a burst of color throughout the Village.

Summer brings excitement, with the weekly Market on The Green, Thursdays Free Brown Bag Music Concerts (also on The Green), Woodstock Summerfest, Bookstock to mention a few. Pentangle Arts Council, located at the Woodstock Town Hall presents live theatre and musical concerts as well as weekend movies.
